The rugged and magnificent Flinders Ranges of South Australia showcase the ancient landscape and vast skies of the outback. This video follows a convoy group of four-wheel drive travellers as they explore these magical ranges.  

The travellers began their adventure at Wilmington where they visited Alligator Gorge. From there they journeyed north to Hawker, exploring throughout the Ranges before going to Arkaroola in the north. They enjoyed the challenge of several of the four-wheel drive tracks available on private stations. These included Arkapena at Rawnsley Park, Stirrup Iron Range on Mulga View and Skytrek on Willow Springs. And there were more.

The Flinders Ranges are not too far away either, centrally placed and an easy day’s drive from Adelaide. There is something here for all the family, including camping, bush walking and bicycling. And of course, the adventurous four-wheel driving on private station tracks.

All the main roads are now bitumen and these provide a safe journey for those towing caravans. There are plenty of camping grounds where you can settle in. Leave your caravan in the camp ground while you explore through the many gorges, river valleys and along the four-wheel drive tracks.
