Savannah Way: Across the Top

Description

The Savannah Way is a great road journey linking Broome in the west with Cairns in the east. 

In this video a travelling group journeys along the Savannah Way. Their adventures began at Kununurra in the Kimberley just inside the border of Western Australia. From Kununurra, the group turned east and travelled into the Northern Territory.

In Katherine the group visited Katherine Gorge and enjoyed a tour through the gorge. After this, the group left the Savannah Way to head north to Adelaide River and Litchfield National Park. Here the waterfalls of Florence Falls and Wangi Falls are a magnificent attraction.

Following an exploration of Darwin, the group headed for Mary River and spent some time in Kakadu National Park. Here the boat trip on Yellow Waters and a visit to Gunlom Falls were among many highlights.

Now it was time for some more adventure as the group took in Limmen National Park, Lorella Springs and some challenging river crossings before leaving the Northern Territory.

Now into Queensland and Lawn Hill National Park was a top spot to visit with a canoe trip in the gorge a highlight.

There were still more highlights on this Savannah Way adventure with a boat trip on the very narrow and impressive Cobbold Gorge top of the list.

And finally, another highlight for the group was the Undara Lava Tubes, with amazing caverns and formations displayed there.

Time ran out for the group and they didn’t reach Cairns, but they will never forget their adventures along the Savannah Way.
