Description
Fraser Island has to be one of Queensland’s main attractions for fishing, four-wheel driving, adventure and fun. Featuring wide sandy beaches, beautiful lakes and clear freshwater creeks, the world’s largest sand island has it all. See a sample in the video below.
This video begins with Noosa and the Sunshine Coast where we visited the Ginger Factory and Eumundi Markets. We also spent time on a hired boat on the Noosa River and strolled through the cool forests of Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.
Next we headed for Rainbow Beach and Double Island Point. After visiting the lighthouse there, we enjoyed the return journey as we came back to Tewantin along the beach.
Fraser Island Highlights
In the video we next explored the many highlights of Fraser Island, both on the beach and inland. Featured are the still reflections of Lake Allom, the white sands of the popular Lake McKenzie and the tea tree stained waters of Lake Boomanjin. Central Station is like a quiet oasis where the clear waters of Wanggoolba Creek flow amongst the ancient ferns and giant satinays.
And then there is the beach where you can visit Indian Head, or see the spectacular formations of the coloured sand cliffs of the Pinnacles. Also on the beach is the rusting hulk of the Maheno not far from the magical Eli Creek.
Our final adventure in this video was a visit to Hervey Bay where a whale watching tour was another highlight of our visit to Fraser Island.
