Description
Four-wheel drive Tasmania on the wild west coast and visit tourist spots with a group of intrepid travellers
Tasmania has it all in a very neat package for the traveller. From spectacular four-wheel driving on the west coast, including on beaches and along old railway lines, to destinations of great scenic beauty, such as Cradle Mountain, Lake St Clair and Mt Wellington, this DVD features many of Tasmania’s top spots.
Compared to the rest of Australia, Tasmania has a long history of convicts, pioneers, old buildings and bridges. Port Arthur is a protected convict settlement with the ruins of an old church overlooking the convict buildings down near the harbour below.
The west coast towns of Strahan and Zeehan are included, as is Mt Field National Park and the stunning Russell Falls. Our travellers enjoyed driving the Sawback Range Track that passes through both rainforest and heathland to the old mining town of Adamsfield.
From the west coast, the travellers headed for Hobart and the Huon and Tasman Peninsulas. There was plenty to see and do on the east coast as the group completed the walk to Wineglass Bay in Freycinet National Park or relaxed with some fishing.
Then it was on to St Helens for some more fishing, Eddystone Point for some sight-seeing and Petal Point for some more fishing (all of which resulted in a major cookout later).
This video offers a sample of some of the best Tasmania has to offer. From beaches, wild rivers, waterfalls and stunning scenery of the west coast to adventurous 4 wheel driving, wonderful walks to places of great beauty, the convict history of the south, and the grandeur of east coast beaches, there is something here for everyone.
